Default Boost problems?

I have 1995 Subaru Impreza WRX, I'm basically having turbo boost problems. I have noticed a few times that the car isn't boosting as it should be. The boost is 0.95bar, but on many occasions it only goes up to 0.5 or 0.6, and then all of a sudden goes back to 0.95bar. I'm concerned about this, can someone please help or guide me to whats going wrong and how it can be corrected.

Thank you for your time.

Right it could be a number of things... are you running standard everything? Have you checked for split pipes or air leaks?

If you have the standard top mount intercooler, these are known to crack (mine did and had similar problems to yours) fitted a front mount and its back up to normal boost (till one of the jubalee clips broke) but its all back to normal

A mate of mine just had the same problem on his 97 WRX, I had a similar issue with my 53 WRX and found it to be the solenoid boost valve. Sometimes they get blocked and you can google for tips to clean them, my mate opted to replace his with a manual type which was easy to set up as he has the gauges to safely adjust it and paid around £25 for the valve.I opted for the electronic boost valve and was around £170 mark including fitting but like the previous thread suggested just to check split pipes (around the valve), hope this helps!

the only mods on the car are a hks downpipe and exhaust system, blitz induction kit and dumpvalve. the car revs fine and drives fine, it's just the odd occassion when the boost is very low.

have you checked the coil packs?? Misfiring could cause it to run low boost, then high boost?

thats a good point, i must say that on some days it does sound like it's misfiring and kinda stuttering. Do i need to look for hairline cracks?
