pull the back seat and splice into the fuel pump wiring plug , take a live to a switch in hiden location following all wires with black tape to make it look origional ,then run live back to pump wires therefore breaking the circuit then just flick switch when you leave car it wont start cos the fuel pump wont work the average thieving scumbag will take a quick look under dash and drivers seat then give up and abandon car hopefully without to much damage

If your goin on holiday put it in your garage and put it on axle stands and take the wheels off it and put the one locking wheel nut on each hub so that the wheels cant go back on. dont leave locking key lying around...

thanks for the kind answers.
where is the cam or crank position sensors are mounted? are they easy to remove?
what about removing the coil pack? (leaving the wires at their place)
about ignition fuse, will I flood the engine when trying to start the car without a fuse?

Crank sensor is located at the centre, front of the engine, under the alternator.
Cam Sensor is on the top of the NS Cylinder Head
Take your ECU out - best way to immobilise it IMO.
Leaving it on axle stands with no wheels on is asking for it to pushed onto it's belly

Can you start the engine without the crank sensor?
No, with the crank sensor disconnected the ECU can't time the engine and therefore can't start it. The main reason why this isn't a perfect method of immobilisation is that an experienced thief may be wise to it anyway - in which case all that needs to be done is to plug it back in.
It would help us to advise you if we knew the context of your immobilsation btw. If you're leaving the car garaged for a bit then it shouldn't be necessary to go over the top. Are you going to be leaving it parked in the open in a high risk area or something? Feel free to reply by pm if you prefer.

When parking in areas that make me uncomfortable leaving the car (e.g. train station carparks or industrial estates at night) I sometimes disconnect the crank sensor AND remove it and take it with me. It is very easy and quick to do, all you need is a 10mm spanner. It's small enough to fit in your pocket, but it's a good idea to wrap it in something to avoid getting oil and dirt on your clothes. Just be careful not to burn your fingers on the engine if removing when still hot!
Unless a thief has a spare crank sensor on them (unlikely!) there is no way the car can be started.

I'm inclined to agree, although most of the above is common knowledge, let's not advertise ways of circumventing security, eh!
I think enough has been said on this thread. Best way to secure your car is a quality alarm system and a decent steering lock
Beyond that, it's common sense about where you park etc...
