iv just bought a 02 sti type uk and the rev counter is slightly weird,when the car is warm and at idle it reads 1500 rpm but the exhaust note tells me it is at idle around 900 i would say ,the counter works fine is just reading 500/600 rpm to high anyone any ideas

 

i know this isnt much help but had my my02 sti 2 years now nearly and it idles at only 500 rpm so maybe there is a descrepency with them.altho 1500 rpm does seem high mate.

 

has anyone heard of this problem before
