Could be the CV Joints. Get it checked out.

if your car has abs then could it be the sensor touching perhaps, one other thing, if it is not repetative (spellcheck) then it may be your pads moving, may sound weird but since it went away for a little while after you had done the drive shaft then it probably something that you have touched whilst doing the driveshaft (pads, calipers etc etc) i had a clicking noise coming from my right hand wheel and after taking the pads and anti rattle springs out and bending them so that they held the pads in tighter and no longer rattled or clicked, may have just been a fluke but just an idea.........
Cheers, Rob

I am with Rob on this one. I too have recently noticed a clicking noise from the drivers side front wheel, only when coming to a halt and clamping the brakes quite hard. It appeared after having a 4-wheel alignment done, so i assumed something had been disturbed and found it to be the pads (quite worn) moving within the caliper.
