Default Question on forester- Please Help

Hi, Im new and have been looking at a forester. But have a question.

On full lock left or right it sort of judders a bit through the steering. Is this normal due to being permanet 4x4 or could it be a box/diff/driveshaft problem.

Any help greatfully appreciated!

Pete

How old is the car? Classic Imprezas are known to develop similar symptoms when the front wheel bearings go, so it could be that if Foresters use the same wheel hubs.

Not sure about new-age cars, but someone else might be able to fill you in on those.

I've noticed this on my 2.0D XC - most noticible when on a wet multi-storey car park floor, especially on very smooth surfaces. On full lock it feels like the front end is "jumping" sideways a bit as you move. I'd guessed it was down to the steering geometry and the blocky tyre tread. 24K miles on there's no obvious problems resulting from it and no noticable tyre wear. Don't let it put you off getting one - getting mine last year was one of the best car decisions I made.
