3 inch or 2.5 inch downpipe?
Want to replace my downpipe which is annoying me because the exhaust shield rattles on it all the time. Muchas glass fiber shoved down the gap around the O2 sensor hole doesn't seem to stop it vibrating and so I guess some bracket is broken somewhere. It's a real pain as it stops you being able to put any load on the engine between 1500-2000rpm.
Don't really want to pay for OEM catted downpipe so was going to get a decat pipe. Just want to know whether 2.5inch or 3.0 inch or a 3.0 inch reduced to 2.5inch at the flange is the best option, or whether it doesn't make much difference. It's a daily driver so torque and spool is more important than top end power, but the only 2.5 inch throughout design I've seen doesn't have an open bellmouth.
Any opinions gratefully received.

Yeh thats what I the impression I was under, but I can't find a 2.5 inch one that has an open bellmouth. I don't know if the OEM downpipe has an open bellmouth having said that or whether it really matters...
