Default If you are running 4 pot Brembos, AP, Alcon or other on your classic...

If you are running 4 pot Brembos, AP, Alcon or other on your classic, what wheels (Inch, Width and ET) have you got? Also what size discs are on your kit?

I'm thinking of ordering 7.5 X 17 ET 47 and i'm looking at brake upgrades in the future, i was thinking 6 pot but these won't fit under 17s, but i'm happy to get 4 pot.

Thanks

Because of disc size or calipers?
How near is the calipers to your wheels, front and rear?

Thanks

you can get 6 pot AP calipers under 17's, even saw 8pot K sports under 16's at scooby shoot out last year.

Im running Girling callipers on mine with 17 inch multispoke OZ's on (not sure what size offset and things though) but the calliper has a couple of mm clearance from the spokes (had to use spacers on the front for them to fit)

17 Rota GRA's- cant remember the offset, but they fit Brembo's, and were standard fit on WR classic Imprezas

Revolution wheels know their stuff for wheel clearance, and were pretty helpful

To clear the brembo caliper you need a ET48 wheel but it also depends on the spoke design, I am runnnning 7.5-17 rota gra's on mine.

I use AP 4pots with 304mm discs and 16" Volk Rays!
The dimension of the Rays are the same as the MY99/00 WRX stock wheels, so I thin 16" 7J ET53.
You only have to place the wheelweights as near as possible on the outside of the wheels, so they do not touch the calipers!

Im running 18" Revolution Milleniums with STI Brembos all round. I had a problem with the rear handbrake shoes not working with the bigger rear discs. i.e not being able to reach the drum inside the bell. Anyone else have this problem?

Forgot to mention mines not a classic. . . .but do people still run into the handbrake shoe prob?

I have a Brembo classic conversion, and my handbrake is pants now (was good before), and no room left on the cable to tighten

Godspeed 335mm under 17s....Just.

Not all but, most 17s will fit over big brake set ups.
