faulty z4 ecu

Default faulty z4 ecu

hi all, don't really post on here much but need advice.
just bought a z4 ecu for my wrx wagon, according to what i've read on this site and others its supposed to rev to around 7500, this ones stopping at 7000 like my standard one
have i just bought a lemon or is there any other reasn?? any info appreciated

you haven't brought a lemon they do only rev to 7100rpm like you other one, did you change your turbo to a tdo5 to match the ecu or just stick it in?

yeah i put td05 in as soon as i got the car 5 mths ago, thought i'd read they rev a bit higher. thats the only reason i got it .
doesn't feel any quicker tho, ahh well guess i misread then!! thanks for quick reply mate

they only run a tiny bit more boost, but they run smoother. agree the difference is not massivley diiferent to say a u8 or w6.
my w6 ecu made 245bhp at scoobyclinc. thats more than book after 15 years.
i bet my z4 ecu would make about 255.

no worries, you get a few people who cant grasp the idea that ecus are suited for different turbos, and just stick them in and expect them to work ETC, it has also happened before when people have swapped the boards over and sold a say a 2c ecu in a z4 case, the rasied rev limit isnt really needed on your car, they were brought in for the sti-ra and ra to compensate for the shorter gearing, hope this helps.
