Default slight ticking or quietish knocking when cold

hiya got 53 plte wrx.51 k on clock.full subaru service history.i get up at 5 in the mornings and noticed there is a slight ticking or quietish kinda knocking till the engine warms up then its ok .can hear the normal ticking from the injectors etc when bonnet is raised.seems be more noticeball when we have had these frost etc.i check the oil on a regular basis and it never realy uses much.always give it a minute or 2 too warm up and warm down.dont thrash it either too be hones.t.just wondered if it the usaul type of noise for the boxer enigine??

a bit of boith if you ask me but thats flat 4 for ya lol but dont worry dude if it is a touch of piston slap i had it for a few years on mine before i forged it and it was fine just warm her up before you drive it then warm up a bit more on the road before you hoon it and as above change the oil every 3000 - to 4000 miles dude
