Default battery goes flat when stood!!!!!

hi when i park my car for more than 10 mins or so the battery goes flat but if i run it and then turn it off and straight back on its fine!! the volt meter reads 13 volts when driving so the altenator works fine , is there a common battery sapping fault on these (wrx turbo 1995) or am i going to have to have a good root around,.

Is it a proper volt meter you are using, or a dashboard gauge?
With engine running shouldn't it be closer to 14.5v?
Anyway for the battery to go flat in 10 minutes I would suspect the battery is v.low on charge and probably pretty much knackered.
