Noticing strong smell since fitting APS

It seems as though I can smell the exhaust fumes a lot more since fitting the above induction kit on a UK MY98. Strange I know but any ideas what it could be?
IOve got a full scooby sport exhaust aswell.

Help please, is it common??

I've got a MY00. The APS kit is slightly different on the MY99/00s to the MY98s. There is no smell from mine.

Check all breather pipes.

You should NEVER get exhaust fumes entering the car (carbon monoxide - you may find yourself getting really bad headaches, particularly on long journeys). It sounds like you have a leak somewhere in the exhaust system/manifold. I suspect that the APS kit amplifies this effect due to increase in airflow.

I advise that you refit the original filter until you have resolved the problem!
