to tein coilover users
hi all
My sti 6 wagon is getting prepared as we speak and the importers have said its got tein coilovers fitted.
What sort of settings do you use? Im not overly keen on the idea of them as my car is going to be a daily driver - school run etc.
Take it even at the softest settings im going to loose a few fillings.

Have you got the EDF control system fitted to yours. Iv'e got it on my super streets, and even on 16 it's very FIRM, to say the least. But i enjoy them and they are a real quality piece of kit, much better than BC's. They are performance minded coily's, so you cant get away from that. You will soon get used to them and love them. Enjoy.

i was looking at a deemon tweeks catalogue and the basic teins are just height adjustable with fixed damping. Take it thats what HA means - height adjustable.
Dont think the EDF if compatible with the basic ones?
wont be going low on them anyway as the car will have to take all my fishing stuff as well and go over some pretty rough ground. My classic manages fine. It was lowered on springs when i got it and i replaced the shocks an springs with O/E stuff 3 years ago and much prefered it.
Maybe im just getting old. Gone are the days of my Clio an it 60mm springs!!

how long ago were they discontinued?
just to give me an idea of how old they might be.
Importers say they look in good condition, hopefully they will with the dryer japanese climate.

One of the front locking rings on mine has weathered badly and cracked in half.... must be the salt on the alloy but now its a case of sort it before the spring itself collapses down the strut.
I might go back to springs n shocks as tbh on our rubbish roads the coilovers tend to just crash into the holes rather than work as suspension!
Mine do have the damper adjust as well as height but i'm defo getting to old for that sort of ride!
