Default Wet boot - sti classic.

Hi all, im pretty new to scooby ownership and have just brought an sti classic version 2.

Just been looking around it again and the boot carpet is soaking, are there any common places i should be looking to the place where the water would be getting in?

Light seals? Spare wheel have any bungs that could be missing?

Any heads up would be great.

Thanks pete

Sti lights are known for leaking...check those first.
Wet boot can be a sign of having been rearended at somepoint in the past.
So check and seal the lights. That might sort it

Usually rear lights, but can also be: spoiler, boot seal, rear windscreen glass seal.
Try puring a watering can full of hot water and food dye over and around it, then open the boot and see if you can spot where it's coming in.

Rear lights: undo 5 nuts, pull light outwards and backwards. Clean off all old seal. Replace with Carafax grey, available from caravan dealers and some Halfords. It's a non-setting mastic.
DO NOT seal with silicone. It MAY do the job, but if you ever need the lights off again, you'll be in trouble.
