A decent panel filter will be fine. As for dumpvalves depends on the sound if you want vta or reserc type. Exhust again down to choice and the sound your after!

totally new at moding a imprezza have owned one before but it was already modded, i would like a fairly loud but deep sound on exhaust, but not to compromise performance as of dump valves im totally naive????? cheers

Don't bother with a dump valve, unless you really want the noise - it won't help performance, and may impair it. Best immediate upgrade is something like Powerstation's stage 1 handling kit - anti-lift kit, stiffer rear roll bar, and most importantly a proper four wheel alignment. £460+vat at powerstation. Then look at replacing the prodrive upgrade, by getting a panel filter, exhaust system and remap. Won't give you that much more power for the price, but the power delivery will be better. I wouldn't bother going for a new exhaust unless you're gonna get a remap, the prodrive map will be designed for the prodrive back box, and you won't get much extra benefit from just getting an exhaust. Don't forget the brakes, Godspeed's big disk upgrade is good value for money

BTW, if you're unsure I find the best bet is to look for a reputable dealer like powerstation and get a whole package drawn up. E.g., powerstation do a performance upgrade for your car that has a panel filter, exhaust, uppipe, and remap for £1549+vat, giving c. 270bhp. Pricey, but very good, and more to the point you get the assurance of their expertise
