Question

In the vacuum lead from the inlet manifold to the boost control solenoid (I think that's right), there's a white plastic cylinder about 1 inch diameter by 3/4 inch long. It's wrapped in foam. It sits right under the alarm siren on MY '00.

I've damaged the foam (nicked it with the end of the spanner while attempting to fit a brake support bracket), and want to check what it is and whether it could be a problem.

Hopefully the foam is just there to stop it rubbing against the other pipes down there, but just want to be sure.

Thanks
Tim
