Default exhaust swap

hello ! hope someone can help me out,ive just bought a 1999 impreza sport wagon.its had a stainless ehaust fitted with a 4 or 5 inch tailpipe and its way too loud,ive put in the bung to quieten it down but it sounds ****e.
anyway my question is that my mate has given me his old back box off his 03 sti,will it fit or should i just buy a proper exhaust for it

Is that buyeye or hawkeye the 03 mate, think its bugeye iirc, if so then it can be made to fit by adapting the joint somehow i forget now am sure someone will help you out though, i have a magnex backbox if you are intrested in that its quiet on idle and not over the top whilst driving and will fit straight onto your car no probs if intrested bud drop me a pm.

the backbox will fit mate ,the only problem is the middle hangar ,which you can either cut it off and turn it 180 degrees and weld it back on,or far easier to just cut it off as the 2 rear hangars are the ones that take all the weight. Did this to my car with an03 prodrive backbox,and impossible to see that the hangar is missing as the exhaust sits just right. imho
