Recently bought a '53 plate WRX wagon and have been reading my way through these forums slowly! I have read several threads which talk about the durability of different turbos but i don't know which is fitted to my car??

Can anyone tell me which one is fitted to the WRX blobeye and also what if there is one, is the expected lifetime of a turbo?? Do they need overhauling/replacing at a certain mileage??

Your car has an MHI TD04L-13T, its very robust and rarely needs any attention during the normal life of an Impreza.

There is no 'service' interval for them.

So long as you look after it eg. warm up + cool down you will be fine.............

 

That's great news thanks for the info. Always making sure it's warmed up and cooled down, gave the wife a quick briefing on that too so I know she takes care of it too.
