Default induction noise

Morning all,

My dads 03 WRX has a problem? When he goes to accelerate (in gear) there is a what I can only describe as a induction kit sucking noise coming from the near side of the engine bay like the TMIC is sucking in air. My dads WRX that has just past its first birthday is totally standard. The car has not lost power. This has become more apparent since he has had two heater matrix's replaced.

What could the problem be?

sounds like an air/boost leak... check all connections around where the eater matrix is,and check obvious fittings such as the intercooler hoses, turbo intake...etc etc, airbox lid on correctly?

I assume the intercooler has been off to allow better access to the bulkhead. So all the appropriate hoses should be checked - intercooler to throttle body, turbo to intercooler and the dump valve hoses.
