Default Reliable power

Can anyone advise me how much power i can squeeze out of my MY03 WRX without making it too unreliable. I'm about 330 now but wondered if high 300's is acheivable on standard internals?? I know i'm opening a can of worms as there's allsorts of considerations but any advice would be great. This is because i managed a 13.2 at the pod today and would now like to get into 12's.

tbh not wirth the cost of trying to go more, you wont get much more and stay reliable, afraid rebuild is your only option to go much more

i would say say 330 is pushing the boundaries without uprating the internals. Presume you already have bigger injectors and a bigger turbo to get to that power?. You'll need an STI engine and gearbox at least to get anywhere near high 300's

6-sp... OR... PPG gearset with ratios 1-4. 5th costs extra I think.

All said and done, the 6-sp is stronger (I think)....

What MY stew?

I intend to "20g-up" my forged engine (so not worried about that) to around <380bhp... but am cacking myself re my gearbox! I know it WILL fail, but hope to get SOME life out of it before it blows, at least! ................

That heartens me. As I'm very gentle on my g/b. Don't do full bore launches and don't do 'em that often anyway. Don't slam the gears in like a nutter, either.

I still have a clutch (no slippage) from when I bought the car with it in - back in Sep 2006!

So hoprefully, the gods will 'smile' on me...
