A DIY method of tailoring your ECU for your mods.
All you need to know will be on here :
openecu.org • Index page
and here:
RomRaider - Open Source ECU Tools | RomRaider / Rom Raider
From what i can gather its fairly sucessful, very interesting and extremely enconomical (till you blow it up LMAO)

I know on the MLR there are boys who will map the evos (and some will do scoobs) safely on OpenECU and have a good bit of experience behind them.
The only disadvantage i can see is there is no way you can know for sure that you have a safe map without haveing someone who know what they are looking at , look over it for you. There may well be someone on here who will look at it for you, although when i spoke to JGM he wasnt fussed on working with it ( and for good reason ) so im not sure who, (if any) of the big named tuners are offering it.
The alternative will be ECUtek and with that comes the slightly higher price tag, and as such the peace of mind and experience of an established tuner.
If it was me and I have no tuning experience, i would either find someone who will work with OpenECU to have a look over it, or have someone in the know give it an ECUtek map.
Alternatively if its a project / track car, and you have ***** of steel and a healthy mind, search about for the DIY tuning threads and get learning , it is on my todo list, not for a career path, but just for my own interest.

andrew carr mapped your car so yes it has a safe map, you can spend more money on having it ecutec mapped to achieve the same, whats the point? when you already have a very capable car
