I need some info about my Impreza
may be silly, but can't find more about my car.
It is 1998 Impreza turbo, reg. May 98,
Mostly I want to know:
what's bhp
what brakes does it have (2/4 pots)
etc etc
thank you in advance

208 doesnt seem enough, but car is quite quick. I was expecting it was more bhp.
What may I do to make it more bhp/torque?
and to make brakes better? good pads or what?
in cost effective way without spending fortune

if its a uk car that is what they are mate.
i have full de-cat hks system,up-pipe and headers, induction kit, walbro pump and newage wrx intercooler and running 260.1 bhp nice and safely.next step is a grand on simtek set-up.
suspension/brakes wise i have prodrive springs, bilstein dampers with up-rated drop links and roll bar bushes all round and geometry set to prodrive settings.
brakes are 2 pots(soon to be replaced)with fast road pads.
can play with most things except silly bhp scoobies.

For last 2years I spent quite a lot on my evo 8 and Impreza is just for track days/gravel etc.- fun.
I want it quick but not very expensive. Roll cage soon
Your upgrades look good. I may do it similar way.
Carbontech pads are very good, if you're looking to get pads soon. (may be noisy)
thanks

UKDM "Turbo 2000"...
MY94-96 - 208 bhp / 201 lb ft
MY97/98 - 208 bhp / 214 lb ft
MY99/00 - 215 bhp / 214 lb ft
Being manufactured May 1998 you have a MY98 (Sep 97-Aug 98) - so it's 208 bhp / 214 lb ft, std.
And I think you have the rubbish 2-pots.

im almost at the limit with regards to standard injectors etc.. as dont want it running lean.next step up is a lot of dosh though.turbo.injectors and simtek.
going to get big brakes next and some nice sticky tyres.luckily enough car came with prodrive suspension and have bigger arb's than standard which saved me a few quid.
just wanted it lower slightly hence new springs.

VF35 off STi '03 will fit straight on.
With appropriate supp mods/remap, it's capable of making up to 350! - and you don't wanna go further than that, really. But expect to make in between 310-340 on the VF35.....
In addition, as a minimum requirement, you'd also need:
Walbro 255 fuel pump
440cc or 550cc injectors
Apexi PFC or Simtek ECU
Cone air filter (+ MAF adaptor ring, if going Apexi PFC ECU route)
FMIC
Fresh set of PFR7B plugs
Be warned that you'd be really pushing your rods/pistons and gearbox though!!!
