Default WR1 specs

Hello

I am trying to find out the mechanical differences between the WR1 and an Sti Type UK.

The WR1 produces 316bhp which is well up from the standard Sti and hits the 0-60 in 4.25 secs.

Would it be possible to make those differences and expect the same performance?

Cheers

Very easily, the WR1 basically has a PPP with a 3 port boost solenoid and slightly different map.
If you had a standard STI, all you would need would be an uprated Walbro 255 fuel pump, a decent exhaust with a sports cat or de-cat downpipe , possibly a 3 port boost solenoid and a decent panel filter such as a Green followed by a remap by a decent mapper such as Paul at Zen or Jolly Green Monster etc.

325 sounds good

what does that mean in terms of performance?

0-60 would be?????

What would be needed to get a 0-60 time under 4 secs?

why are you so interested in a 0-60 time? it is something you probably will NEVER(i am going to still my neck out for this one) use on the road. the majority of cars i have raced againest having been from a rolling speed.

anyhow back to your question, i would say about 400bhp??? getting a quick 0-60 time is all about getting a good launch.

I have around 350bhp in a newage, using the times from the strip my 0-60 works out at roughly 4.1/4.2 sec, thats with a 5/6k non symathetic launch that i wouldn`t contemplate on the road!

As said above i`d imagin 400 to break into the 3`s and a harsh launch.

i am not on here trying to slate you, but 0-60 as a benchmark is not very good imho. 30-60mph or 50-100mph gives you a better idea of how fast the car is.

Just to add to this . As an ex WR1 owner I feel the 4.25 sec 0-60 time was a little optimistic, Prodrive apparently acheived this figure but I dont recall any magazines at the time managing to match it.
