Default Coil pack question

Hi, got a coil pack question. When driving along at a sedate old speed, just sort of touching the accelerator, the car will hesitate a little. More noticable in 2nd and 3rd than other gears.

Gapped my plugs to make sure they were correct today and had a look at the coil packs. Two had hairline cracks in the coil pack body, but not at the tips. Would this be a possible cause for the hesitation? And they are two bolt packs too, so going to be hard to find if they do need replacing, without spending a fortune!
Thanks, Nick,.

Do you have an a MY93-96 ph.1 Impreza? if so, I think, the coilpacks should be single-bolt jobs. Sounds like yours are from a Legacy/Liberty!

Yes it's a 94 M plate wrx (sti- still not completely sure!) but from what we can work out from rcg's etc it's had an engine swap from a Legacy.
