Do you mean hitting fuel cut (basically accelerating then a sharp jolt that nearly forces you through the windscreen)?

No such thing as a sti terzo. A sti is a jap import. A terzo is a uk car.

Sounds like overboost cut

Have you fitted an aftermarket exhaust?

Default miss firing/ splutering and restrition at high revs

hi there, i have put new plugs in found that one coil pack was cracked and replaced that and the others are ok. normally runs on v power but the mechanic who took the car to the mot station put unleaded in it so i have put in a high octane boost and topped the car up with v power and still the same problem. I will be trying my friends air flow meter to see if its that next but if it isn't i don't know what to do. i hear it could be over boosting but the car hasn't been messed around with and it doesn't sharp judder like i have read on some of the forums posted. I am running the car without the cat, don't know if that could be a reason but it was fine before. The car will drive normal but only when you put your foot down and the turbo kicks in and around 5000 revs to 6000 is when i get the juddering/ spluttering etc. Help please!

Inappropriate gap sizes?

Coilpack can visually look fine, but can have microscpoic hairline fractures that can lead to arcing etc. If you believe the other 3 to be originals, or at least very aged, prob best to splash out on em...

The one i put in was secondhand aswell but the others all looked ok. I am far from an expert so i have been relying on a friend who has had scoobies for many years and i must admit the one that did come off did have a small crack so was replaced but he did say the others were ok and he did seem to look over them with a fine tooth brush

Yeah coilpacks can be a bugger to 'suss' in this respect.

Try plug gap sizes, MAF and any other 'cheaper' things first, maybe...

Have you tried the fault code finding procedure yet?

we were going to try that with the wires but the wiring under my dash is like a spaggetti junction so didn't want to risk it. if i have to get it plugged in i will but like you said, trying the cheaper options first but very annoying as i am sure you can guess.

There's nothing worse than spending shedloads on something.... and finding out it was something much cheaper that fixes it!

Default Thanks

true, going to try the air flow meter tomorrow and go from there. Times i feel its getting better and the revs go up to 6000 but then it starts to pull again. if i keep the revs lower the car runs reasonably fine but there is a problem somewhere and i will keep plugging away until its fixed. I appreciate all the advice i get from all you guys and girls out there as i am a complete novice when it comes to my car but learning quickly.
