as long as the bolts to the turbo and downpipe are not seized then pretty easy 5 bolts on the turbo and 2 on the center section swap the gasket and refitting is the removal hth

You've got to take the downpipe off really - Otherwise you'll be fighting with it to try and get it far enough back and over the studs on the back of the turbo

Once you've undone the 2 bolts on the centre pipe , and removed the 5 downpipe bolts ,it will slide off. The old gasket may be attatched to the downpipe or it might be stuck to the turbo. Simply slide off old gasket - fit new one and push downpipe back on,tighten bolts, join centre section back together , job done

Remove intercooler , remove heat shield , soak nuts on turbo for a good hour with penetrating oil as these can be a nightmare once these five are off undo the two on the centre to downpipe as these are a lot easier , be warned it can take a whole day or longer as the nuts seize/rust solid to the studs , you then have to use a dremmel or chissel to cut nuts off and then run a dia down the stud after to clean , just depends how rusty and old they are , you will cut your knuckles and swear .!!!!!

Yes. as above. I recently changed my turbo to a bigger one and removed the downpipe etc. Spray a lot of WD40 or similar as the nuts do corrode a bit onto the studs and the last thing you want is rounded nuts, (should I rephrase that)??

Will agree with the 2 replies above ,and add that i changed my turbo back in august 09 and never sprayed the bolts ,and they all came out easily .The nuts were tight but it also helps if you use good quality spanners when your doing this.

I managed to open the gap a little with a flat head screw driver and slide in the new gasket, this is on a 3 bolt tubular manifold and up-pipe.

The success was marred slightly by the fact I got something in my eye which had to be removed at the local minor injuries unit by numbing my eyeball and picking it out with a needle! and it was the same nurse that glued my hand up a few weeks earlier after stabbing a steak knife into my hand from the dishwasher! lol
