Default Cost to have Head gasket done

Does anyone know roughly how much it should cost to have a head gasket done on a 99 uk turbo?

If you have the heads skimmed then 800-1k, if you dont have the heads skimmed and they are at fault then probably 1.5k as you will need to do it all again

My mate had his done at a local garage to me for £800, skimmed as well.

Sounds very cheap, I did mine myself , includings ARP head studs the parts were approx £500

To put in context, a Subaru dealer quoted me £1400 ex VAT to change HGs without skim work. Its an 11 hour job and the gaskets will be IRO £130 (£300 for OEM ones!)

About £600 + parts is a reasonable price for the job.
