Im hopefully having my car mapped in the next couple of days by Andy Carr

My question is now the weather is frezzing cold will that affect the map in the summer when its hot again??

I know turbo cars like the cold air, but im not sure what it will drive like later on in the year

Probably been asked before on here but i carnt find anything

I've always wondered this. But the other way around. If mapped in Summer how does the mapping cope in the winter..?

cars always under perform in the summer than in winter due to cold air being denser. So i would guess that it probably better to map it now so u get the best from it.

A large part of the answer to that question depends on what sort of car you've got.

As you know, the colder (and denser) the air, the better use the engine will make of it. As far as mapping is concerned, as long as your car has an inlet air temperature sensor the mapping should stay pretty consistent no matter what the outside air is freezing or very warm, as the ECU uses the IAT input to compensate the areas where the temp makes a difference (primarily the overall boost target and the wastegate control solenoid duty cycle).

However, if your car doesn't have an IAT sensor (i.e. like non-STi classics), the ECU will have no way to dial into temp changes. On these, a car mapped in hot weather will have an increasing tendency to overboost when it gets cold - or, on the other hand, a car mapped on a cold day will have a slight tendency to underboost when the weather's hotter.

Assuming you have a newage, the ECU should be able to hold things pretty consistently. As above, Andrew will be able to advise.
