Default Anyone recognise these pistons?

I stripped down my engine last night after it had a front end impact to the cam pulleys - The previous owner had advised me the engine had been rebuilt with forged internals.
These pistons don't look like the OEM ones I've had in other WRX's & UK 2000 Turbos
Anyone have any idea what make they are? They have "HB" on the top of them

Thanks in advance

Mark

Standard STI pistons I think.

Is there anyway to find out if the whole engine is out of an STI at all??

Cheers for the input!

The pistons are the biggest difference, rods are the same, both blocks are open so I hope he upgraded those too (the rods that is )

Standard cast UK pistons by the looks of it. STI forged don't have the "HB" on the crown. The crown shape looks like newage WRX.

^What he said. They're cast EJ205 pistons. 99MY or newer. The "whole engine" is not out of an STi on that basis Mark. If the block has the same (or the same spec) pistons it was originally built with, the fact that it's open deck is the giveaway.
