hi lads, i changed a turbo on a legacy ej25 twin turbo today, it was the primary turbo (on the passengerside) wen fitted, i primed it with oil by takin out a fuse n just turnin the engine over, it was runin for about 30seconds and th turbo i replaced got almost 2 hot 2 touch and the 1 on the driverside was cold. any ideas on wot it could b or isit normal?? cheers shaun

It will get hot due to the exhaust gases. Not seen a twin turbo setup on a Legacy. But as you say it is the primary, is there a valve that opens at a particular point to allow gases to work the secondary turbo?

The twin turbo's were 2ltr not 2.5, is that what you meant?

its a friends car and its had a brand new EJ25 (2.5L) short engine from the new 2.5 Impreza STI into it. the turbo needed replacin because primary Turbo squeeled as the bearing had gone.
