Default impreza bugeye 2.0 gx to wrx engine project

Hi, I have previously had a classic wrx import, but now I'm fancying a bugeye model but I am thinking of either getting a shell to drop a engine in or getting a gx and dropping a wrx engine in, recently been chatting to a mechanic friend of mine and he said I should find out whether there are any differences on the wiring loom ie sensors, I assume that the ecu would need to be changed to match the engine, all advice would be greatly appreciated as this will be the first engine change in a performance car, thanks dan

I would have thought the cost involved wouldn't be worthwile
just go straight for a wrx and go from there mate it will be a lot easier and a better base to start from
