Default Pops and bangs!! Should I worry?

Newbie question so forgive my ignorance...

When lifting off the throttle (especially in higher gears, low road speed and low rpm) im getting progressively louder pops from the exhaust.

The vehicle is a Forester STI, which has just had an Ekutek remap, fuel pump, de-cat etc. When the car was fist mapped it wasnt a problem. Fuel wise its had nothing but V power. Maybe im getting paranoid but im sure its getting more frequent!

The car does have a HKS blow off valve (which im waiting to replace with a standard item).

Cant get hold of the mapper as he is away on holiday so any advice is much apretiated.

its just over run mate. unspent fuel. your mapper has made your map nice and safe by giving the engine a bit too much fuel. nowt to worry about. if it bothers you get him to adjust it on his return.

Have a blitz bov on mine and full decat, pops, bangs and the occasional flameout, especially when lifting off under heavy acceleration - worrying at first as i thought wtf, but now just use to it. I dont know if it will do it after the remap - hopefully so.

Nothing to worry about, as said above its over run, you may find flames as well if someone is following you. All good.

And again there isnt anything to worry bout in damaging things. Just enjoy it.

And welcome to the pops and bangs club. LOVE IT

If the standard recirculating dump valve is put back on will you get pops and bangs? If the answer to that is no, when the car is mapped can the mapper make it pop and bang?

Mine pops and bangs with the OE recirc; some do some don't.

Mapper can make it pop and bang.

Mine was popping loads with a forge atmospheric dump valve, but stopped when I put a regular one back on - I do miss the pops, but not as much as i DON'T miss the dump valve chav effect (disclaimer - the car came with the dump valve on when I bought it!)

You wont really get them on a catted exhaust so no point trying to add them in. You may get the odd one but thats about it.
