so the plan was to buy my classic uk turbo run it for 2 years upgrade the engine a little (about 300bhp ish ) then trade it up for a newer 1 e.g hawkeye sti.
so iv been looking around the 10k mark now for what will prob be around 7-8k in a couple years for ideas then i compared them with evos in the same price bracket, am i wrong or can you get a lot more for your money with the mitsi?
obv most ppl will be biased to the scoob so was i until i start looking around, maybe there is a model i havent seen that can compare (if there is great show me please!)
just take a look at these then correct me if im very wrong ( i kinda hope i am lol )

IMO i would buy an evo all day long mate, much better car i dont have one but i know plenty of people who do and tbh the kill the scoob's plus the engines seem to take a hammering better on the later models 7,8,9's comapred to the ej20 engine( not sure about the ej22/25) but yes i would much rather have an evo if i had the money as much as i love the scoobs

p.s the evo mr as the danglies lol there mint have seen a few goa nd my mate owned one a while back until his friend wrote it off for him, get one bought if you can afford it just remember the 3,500 mile services and the price of parts, insurance etc when taking into consideration of running cost as there not cheap but having said that neither are scoobies lol
i could be wrong but i ceertainley wouldnt buy either of those for 10k
much better of both avauilable.
its personal preferrrance as to which you choose really
id get a couple of decent test drives in both and see what you you prefer to actually drive.

Scoob: slightly easier to insure, cheaper parts, cheaper to run, cheaper to service, more comfortable on a journey.
BUT: Yes, slower, and yes more fragile engines if tuned. More expensive to tune?
EVO: Dearer to insure and service, with service intervals at 3,500 miles
Parts dear, less available. Quicker than a Scoob, eiasier to tune?, and solid engines less likely to fail.
BUT: Uncomfortable on a journey/day to day driver.

Buy a spec c for 10k, evos are heavier than scoobies you could have 400 brake in an evo and ra with 330 will breeze past you. Don't get me wrong from evo 5 onwards they look gorgous and handle well but a scooby for me every time and for 10k you can get yourself a nice spec c which is also quite rare

You wont get a good spec c for 10k (cheapest ive seen an 03 plate is 12k), you can pick up an my03/04 and if your really lucky an MY05 JDM though
stronger engines, even put evo's to shame
fantastic everyday car, will handle just as good if not better than the evo, plenty of vids out there to prove that too

Impreza will have a shorter shift gearbox so will be more fun to thrash and if it has DCCD box, snow is amazing fun - trust me

Sorry guys, I love my scoob but would trade her for the right evo!!
You won't get the noise from the Evo though and I do like people to know there is a Subaru coming.
wots hapnin lee , i see u are thinkin about joinin the dark side m8 !!! lol
u got that bonnet on ur own scoob yet ?
ps: scoob m8
lot better handling in my opinion ,the evo is a totaly different car to drive aswell so hard to make comparisons as they are good cars , bugeye sti's i reckon are quite smart with little mods and go like stink

Evo is a £4K more expensive car.... mine was £27K, the same model year Evo was £31K.
dunx
P.S. My pal Ben is dropping 2.3 strokers into Evo's for pennies, they make around 500 bhp with ease... he's flat-out at work !

I think the evo gearboxes are quite common to go wrong! Personally, i'd get an sti bug (the 2.0 sti engine is generally alot stronger than the 2.5 im led to believe) you could probably get one for about 7k and get it comfortably to a little under 400bhp, with some chassis mods to boot with the change. (bet i get a slap saying i'm talking b0££ocks hehehe!)

The twin scroll cars are one giant leap in terms of performance and mechanics

I agree with you tony but his 3k better off, at that age it will proberly have an exhaust and filter with bigger injectors, some gt headers, nice turbo and a map he will be looking over 400 with some change left over too and he will have one quick spec c that will make for one quick road car

very Nice spec list on this one, with a decent turbo and remap you have a very fast 400 + car, not really a dailiy driver though.
2001 SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0 WRX STi 7 V7 Type RA Spec C Light Weight
I happen to like the bugs, but as said above they do need a little tweaking

cheers, tbh it was always the plan to have the classic 2 years and then get a 7/8, build up a bit of no claims (touch wood) 1st.
there no doubt that the evos look the **** but the scooby bug has bit me lol so i was hoping to find a scoob that easily outshone the evo with power and looks for 10k ( prob around 8k in reality)??
slightly off topic but i jst got a quote on a 7 and its £1800, £500 more than the classic which i thought wasnt bad considering the value difference, then i seen the excess!! £3000!

hopefully that will clear up with 5 years no claims tho lol
