Default If the Cam belt idler bearings/tensioner break...

If the Cam belt idler bearings break what damage is this going to cause?

If the tensioner breaks what damage will this cause?

Thanks

the answer to both of the above is minimum bent valves to a complete destroyed engine , with next to nothing salvageable, if as per your other thread you are thinkg about skimping on the cam belt kit change, that's up to you.

If either fails then it will be more than likely to cause the cambelt to slip, resulting in bent valves

Yeah i'm not going to. I'm just researching into getting the same, if not better quality parts but not from Subaru.

@madscoob a member on this forum post this to me:

"the oem idlers where made by nsk in japan for subaru , they are available for a fraction of oem price from camskill in a blueprint box"

so i'm looking up about it as this sounds good to me. This thread was a thought that came from this information @madscoob gave me.

Thanks
