Head Gasket advice please
Hi fella's
I need to whip the heads off the motor as one has gone.
I have a few questions if you would please.
Any recomendations for a gasket (Or anything else i will need). Standard or uprated?
The guy who is giving me a lift reckons he can do it with the engine in situ but i suggested whipping it out, any thoughts?
Also whilst out anything i should think about changing replacing.
By the way its a 52 plated STi bug.
Thanks in advance.

Get the heads (notice heads and not head) checked, best to see if they need skimming and then ensure both heads are good and replace gaskets, not the easiest car to do it on due to the 2 heads, not cheap to get it done via a mechanic either but probably better in the long run.

Cheers fellas
The heads will be getting skommed regardless,
Does it depend on the amount of material removed when getting new gaskets or are they all the same ?
Any thing else to change, oil pump water pump etc.
Thanks again.
Gary
Ps
Sorry the guy helping (Doing it) is a Volvo mechanic , so not really me doing it.
