Nice setup. Personally i'd swap the RCM for a inner wing CAI. Summin along the lines of a 70mm APS would work well.

I'd say 420 Bhp would be about the right figures unless your planning on a 10-20% Meth Map ??

where could i get the aps 70mm cai

also im keeping the standard ecu is there a way of having switchable maps i.e 1 with meth and 1 without

also would octane booster work just as good as meth

The main APS dealer in the Uk are The Company - DS Automotives

Switchable maps are gonna be a new Simtek or similiar i'm afraid M8. But with your spec it would be a worthwhile investment

bodski

is the aps 70mm capable of giving me enough air to produce 420 bhp with the size restriction within the inner wing

and maybe if someone was selling a second hand one then yes i would go for it but not at 1600 sheets just too much money

100% M8. Especially if you run a cold air feed to it from the offside foglight cover. They retail at around the £200 mark.

They draw so much cold air that the MAF has to be rescaled during the mapping process

If you have a look at my garage mate, at my spec, I have just about the same mods as you. I got 432bhp with JGM.

Although I might put a 2.5 block in to up the torque.

Take the foglight cover off and your pretty much looking straight into the inner wing. You can just squeeze a 90mm pipe through. I cut mine out with a hole cutter and bonded a snorkel into the hole and then attached the pipe with a large jubilee clip. Once cut to the correct length it supplys tons of cold air straight to the end of the filter on the CAI

My scanguage reads the temp past the maf as being only 1 degree above ambient, so works pretty well

Think u can see what mine looks like in my profile pic things ??

yeah i can im quite dumb when comes to these things but

how does the hose stay in place and not move around and
does the end of the hose just sit in front of the aps cai

do you have the number for the people you bought the stuff from

ive found this 089mm Diameter Cold Air Feed/Intake Kits. Blue Trumpet for Revotec - larkspeed.com

cheers

Thats pretty much exactly what i've got Ste. Although i got all mine in bits from Fleabay. The hose being 90mm it fits the hole behind the foglight cover almost perfectly so it has no room to move about. As you say it just sits infront of the filter on the CAI supplying lots and lots of nice cold air

You remove the air box and the snorkel from inside the engine bay. Then remove the inner wheelarch liner. The CAI comes with a bracket that bolts the CAI into place so it can't move once mounted inside the inner wing. Once that's fitted you attach the filter from inside the wheel arch.

Ste
just had a thought. Might be worth checking that the APS will clear your pipework from the FMIC your fitting. Best check with Harvey M8

To be honest, I'd use the kit which came with the FMIC. I don't know of many people running over 400bhp which doesn't use a CAIK.......

I'm running that power easy.........

And if/when I put the 2.5 engine in I will be hopefully running around the 450/450 mark on that inter cooler, with the CAIK which comes with it. I've not heard the Hybrid CAIK is a restriction before.....
