Hi there i,ve got 1992 jap import impreza wrx and its got door speakers on the parshal shelf and i was wondering if you could fit 6x9 speakers with out cutting any of the metal just cut a bigger hole in the wooden part so would be grateful if anybody has or know if you can fit 6x9 speakers in the parshal shelf to email me please thanks

 

Look upwards from inside the boot, you will be able to see if you have a 6x9 holes or 13cm holes, simples;-)

I have 6x9's fitted but the holes in the shelf have been nibbled out by a previous owner.

 

youve gotta cut away at the rear shelf to fit 6x9's mate.

 

+1 had to do the same to mine - also heard that if you are thinking about fitting a sub in an enclosure in the boot then don't be tempted to put 6x9's in the back as well, it will probably need more mid range and sound too bassy with the sub and 6x9s

 

when i look up from the boot with mine i have an egg shape hole lol. its a 93 impreza wrx. is there some kind of spacer you can buy or is it a case of eating the shelf and if so how the beep does the shelf come out mines solid

 

The shelf doesn't come out mate. You can buy spacers to fit the 6x9's but you have to be carefull of the clearance between the shelf/spacer and the rear screen, i tried it with my Vibes and they would not fit
