unscrew the grey cap on top of the idle control valve and twist it to the left until idle is where you want it also make sure u havent split one of the small vac lines and dont fully unscrew the screws just a little , enough to turn the cap on the icv

Any check engine light showing?

Does it feel like the throttle is sticking, or is it idle control valve related?

On a newage, the ISCV is on the top of the throttle body - may be worth taking the screws off the top of it, and cleaning out with brake cleaner.

there are no lights showing,it dont feel like the throttle is sticking so do you think it could be the icv then? it seems to have gone back to normal at the mo but it feels more jurky tho, also the revs drop when in neutral to about 1050rpm first then back to 700rpm ish

sounds like an air leak...you have just been messing around with the dump valve aso so that's my guess.
