Default Bloody Clutch

Help! Had a new clutch fitted about 6 months ago, exedy pink box stage 1 with lightened flywheel. It juddered at the start but bedded in nicely bite point has always been right at the top 2 to 3" max. Now it slips like a *******! Any ideas?

Well that does not sound right, what was the cause of your old clutch to fail? Does the clutch slip only when cold or all the time, where did you get your new clutch, flywheel and who installed it as all of the later 3 will need to be involved if a fault is diagnosed and requires repair.

Gearbox input shaft oil seal failure putting oil on clutch?. I had an Exedy Hyper single that suffered this very shortly after fitting, I think the juddering finished off an already failing oil seal (03STi in 2008 so 5 yr old). Failed really badly at a track day and was leaving puddles of gearbox oil when parked and stank something rotten from the exhaust. £12.50 for oil seal and £400 for rest of repair.

Have a look round the bottom of the clutch bell housing area to see if any drips. If there are then the driven/friction plate is scrap I'm afraid.

Is there an adjuster on the pedal? Usually an Allen bolt or similar

Don't think they are adjustable as they are hydraulic?

the oil seal is bad for making the clutch slip when it lets go for obvious reasons but ive heard of the crank seal also causing this

especially with the lightened flywheel with the holes in them as the oil from the crank seal can wheep through the holes ,look under as he said u should see some sort of oily marks where the gearbox connects to the engine

All sorted - Clutch was buggered, the garage that fitted it (non-scooby specialist) along with the lightened flywheel forgot to fit the dowels. This screwed both the clutch and the flywheel which needed skimming. Also based purely on the pedal pressure and feel it appears I had been supplied the std not the uprated pressure plate.
