blown rad hose please help

Default blown rad hose please help

hi everyone iv got a 1995 v2 sti done 55000 miles need some advice please i was driving home this morning on a1 doing about 50mph when the top left hand side rad hose burst open like a bannana iv been told that it is a common fault ??
hope the haed gaskets are ok , im just wondering were the thermostat is located, hope its just that at fault unless anyone else can advise me different . the car still starts drives and ticks over spot on
i would be thankfull of any feedback.:

That hose gets very hot during driving and is the one most likley to fail.
I wouldn't worry too much, if everything else is ok just change it and carry on.
If its the original hose its due a replacement and I'd be tempted to change the bottom hose as well.

thank mate think im going to change the thermostat and rad cap just as a matter of precaution cheers again

as above they go quite often, mine went on me, i changed the rad at the same time as it was corroded and silted up, was fine after.

My top hose went on my 1995 WRX last year. Is a common problem. My headgaskets were fine.

As Reef said good opportunity to change the bottom hose as well, maybe for a nice colored samco set
