Default quickie regarding oil levels

checked my oil when cold tonight read min warmed it up left for 5 mins read full so went and put 1 litre off castrol 10.40 magnatec in cant understand thought it shouldnt read min when cold put 1 litre in just in case bugeye o1

Are you saying you put a litre of oil in when it already read full? Oil expands when it warms up, hence the difference between low and high when it warmed up. As long as it sits between l and f when cold it will be fine. Check it is not overfilled. This can contaminate up your boost control solenoid. Oil level should not exceed the notch on dipstick when the oil is hot

tu be honest it sat under min and didnt sit between low and the full marker

its called thermal expansion and a crappy dipstick design.
