Default Advice needed (radiator fans modification)

i want to move my fans to infront of my radiator, reason being is because i have an alloy radiator in place at the moment and because its alot thicker than the standard my fmic piping does fit properly down between the blcok and the fans,

now at the moment my pipe is slightly crushed in order to allow the fitment but i dont want to do this with my new piping that i am going to be getting shortly.

i dont mind removing the air con as i dont use it. i have already relocated my battery to the boot so i have the space but dont want to go cutting the car.

any one able to tell me how or what i need to move my fans to the front fo the radiator?

any help appreciated

well i had to clip the corners off the fins but if i can move it to the front i will have the more room i need. plus may look a bit cleaner in there. dont mind extending wires and things. just need to know if its straight forward of i need to buy any thing to do the move

its a great radiator. and i would advise to get one.

fans wont work as efficiently when reversed as they are designed to work one way. you could buy a pace front mount fan they are very good, just make sure you get one the right size to fit your rad.

are you not able to reverse the fan to blow rather than pull. as its only amotor and earth and positive would need to be switched?

you can reverse the polarity on the motor but the fan blades are designed to work efficiently one way only so you will prob find that it isnt as good when switched around. I did exactly what you are suggesting on a different car (vauxhall) and it did work but just wasnt very good and took ages to bring the temps down once they got up. I eventually bought one of the pace fans which was specifically designed to be used in front of the radiator.

just run one fan as with thick cored race alloy rad the water temps will be slightly lower any way
