What's this?
Picture is of course a Fozzie but mine is a Hawkeye STI.
For the last 2 mornings, when i first start the motor, it has started making a high speed whirring noise (like a dremel) but only last about 1-2mins, then stops making the noise.
There is only 1 pipe going into it and this pipe splitsand goes to something located under the intercooler (can't quite see very well).

Well clever clogs, i was after a detailed explaination., but maybe you can answer the following.
With my limited knowledge of turbo'd engines, why would you want to "pump" air into the inlet manifold when this air is already compressed from the turbo?
Plus this pump still has just one pipe connected to it so where is it getting the air from to "pump" into the inlet manifold??
