i quite like them and there a limited numbered car
think uk300's are going between 5.5k -6k or slightly over ive seen a 2005 sti with 19k on the clock for £9495

If i did it all over again and i didn't want a wagon i would have bought an STi form the off.
Genuine bugeye STi wagons are as rare as rocking horse drops and so far i have spent a a fair bit slowly converting mine into into something similar and i still have a long way to go but that's my choice and i love my wagon anyway.
Your UK 300 with only 22K on the clock must be not only in mint condition in and out but the engine is practically brand new. That's a real rarity!!
As it stands your UK300 is a better bet. There's lots you can do to yours for £3K performance wise, giving it a new lease of life and you a completely different drive. A few wise bolt-ons and a good remap and you'll see 330-340bhp on a relatively unused engine. Brilliant!!
The STi has already done 80K miles and and it's onlly a couple of years newer. OK so it's got all the STi goodies like the 6spd box and all that but in all honesty it won't be in as nice condition as yours and after that sort of mileage it's probably going to have a few rattles as well.
Stick to your UK300 and spend some money on it!!

keep the uk, alot more of a attractive car than an sti with that many miles, all your paying for it the sti badge.
id love to find a uk300 with that low mileage, she'd be a keeper!

part exchanging yours for an sti is ok if thats what u want to do,but going on the details u have gave theres no way id be putting in £3k for a motor with alot more miles on it,u could sell yours for good money and go and buy a nicer sti with lower mileage, personaly i would keep the uk 300 and get modding.

yeah but it aint really about the extras that sti imprezas have, the question was" would you trade in a2001 uk300 bug eye with 22k for a 2003 blob eye sti with 80k & pay 3k on top? " just remember 80k and 3k??????????????????

jesus!! all i meant was that id much rather have a rarer limited production uk300 with that many miles than an sti with 80k that you can get everyday (but with alot more miles).

Trust me your not just buying the badge, i remember a few years back , i had an 03 wrx ppp it was a nice car ended up spending a few quid on it , made it look like an STI , increased the power, suspension and all the other stuff that you do and guess what , yep still wanted an STI so i ended up getting one so what a waiste of money that was just dont do the same , buy an sti perhaps not that one but look around at others if you dont you will only regret it, you know you will cos deep down you want an STI, cheers steve.

somtimes its just seems simpler to just trade it in as you dont have to look around for a new car you just hand in your old one and drive away in the other one,
sell for cash then buy

Agree with Simon and scoobyhurky.
The low mileage on your car will net you a decent price, and tbh whilst the rear spoiler on the UK300 looks good I never really thought the front was as pretty as a traditional STI (in terms of the headlights and grille - love the splitter though - I have one ).
There are plenty of good STI examples knocking about so take your time and find a good one - and would suggest one with lower mileage too.

Quite a spec mate. The only problem (and kinda what stops me going mad with mine) is at that power, how long will it before either the clutch, gearbox or engine goes pop given that the UK300 is based on WRX internals! One of the guys off Surrey Scoobies had a similar setup with a TD05 but it didn't last long before he needed a rebuild too. Did you go for uprated internals and / or a closed deck block?

Im not the type of driver that launches at the lights (not often anyway) and as im a mature driver with two kids im usally taking it asy anyway... Its just nice now and again to plant the right foot when required knowing you will get the aggressive reposnse required.
