If it's still reading in KPH and has the standard ECU then it's limited to 112 MPH (180 KPH). You need a mechanical converter to put in line with the speed cable to make the clocks read in MPH. When you do this it delimits it, due to the fact that there's no way you'll get the needle around to 180.

if its doing 120 its unlimited and you'll find you it's probably hitting fuel cut.

yes its a standard ecu ,and yes the speedo reads in mph but bear in mindi cant be sure it was actually 120 as my speedo doesnt work when i get to over 50mph so i was going from what my satnav tells me and i dont know how accurate it is.

how do i remove or change the fuel cut limit then?i just cant get my head around a performance car that cuts out at such a low speed

do i just need to remove the clocks to see if its got a convertor then?what will it look like?

cheers fellas really appreciate the help

see mine did this before i put a converter on it. my car used to go to 120 before it cut out but now my needle stops reading the correct speed as soon as i go over about 50ish mph. my defi tells me the correct speed i think but not 100%.. and im not hitting the cut out any more.

fair enough i was only saying that as the limiter should be at 112 as that was what the japanese govt and car makers agreed on.
