WRX wont start??
Hi guys, got a version one import WRX and it showed error code 22 (knock sensor) That has been replaced and went to reset ecu but will not fire up??
Car has got fuel and has spark. But am i right in saying the knock sensor retards/advances timming?? would the timming be the cause of not starting?? or could the KS be faulty?? any help would be brilliant Ross

The knock sensor should not affect the car's ability to start - even with a knackered or disconnected sensor.
As you say the ECU can adjust the timing and other parameters based on knock input, but, in the absence of any signal it will just carry on as normal. It won't be receiving any during startup and idle anyway so this is a red herring.
I would suggest that you start checking to see if you've accidentally disconnected or broken any other electrical connections while changing the sensor. Take it that it's turning over as normal on the starter?
