safe fuel pressure for running in?
hi all,
ive just dropped my cdb 2.1L stroker engine in my car and was wondering what the fpr should be set at to be safe for running in?
its has a td05, grey injectors and standerd ecu but does have a walbro pump, full decat, front mount intercooler and apexi induction, so pretty standard untill its run in.
any help would be great, thanks,

The fuel pressure is not an issue, just drive it like you are driving miss Daisy for a while then speak to a reputable mapper about getting a run-in map done to allow the engine to be worked progressively harder but without causing any damage. Due to incorrect fuel injector and ignition settings as the mileage rises prior to getting a full power re-map.

When you're running in your CDB the turbo should be hooked up to have the wastegate open 100% and ideally so long as you're running 99RON Tesco or Vpower you'll be fine if you keep the revs low and as has been suggested...driving miss daisy style.
The ideal scenario would be a remap using the ESL solution to limit your RPM so you don't over rev it and make sure it's running rich off boost (which it will be anyway). This helps the running in process.
Disconnect the vacuum hose from the FPR and set the fp to 3bar. That should be about right. Reconnect the vacuum hose and off you go!!

The ECU will cope with the correction when running closed loop, you can also compensate a little with fuel pressure. The base maps will run richer in open loop from this point on. However it’s not a good idea to run this over 3 K or 50% throttle until you have the car mapped.
Also remember For the correct run in procedure, you will need to have the car mapped to ensure correct loading of the engine this has to be done regardless as a engine that’s done 1K with no loading is engine not run in imo.
But for first start up and testing you will be fine with what you have for the first stage.

thanks very much, i am thinking, get it started with all the more standard parts on, then when i know its ok (oil pressure, temps, and everything) ill drop the td06 25g turbo, bigger injectors, go mafless and simtec on, then get it mapped for a good running in, thanks for all the help and happy new year,
