Default Off a cylinder?

Looking for a bit of help...this could be a number of things and might not be easy to diagnose over the net

Here's the story. I topped up my oil today then I was out in the snow doing a bit of sliding about but nothing too crazy. Then got the powerhose out and blew the salt off her and did in around the arches. Went home and parked up. 2 hrs later I started later I started the car & and it's running very very poorly. Sounds like it's off a cylinder but I'm no mechaninc I could be wrong. So I then drove 4 miles or so very easy out to my sisters with thought that if water had got in anywhere from the powerhose this might dry it out with the heat. But to no avail.

The car's a "99 Type R. Anybody any ideas? Possibly a bad plug or lead maybe?

Cheers
Ryan

I sprayed the leads & coil pack etc with WD40 but it was no good. I've now left the car with McKeary's Subaru dealer. They checked the diagnostics faults & all clear, They then took the plugs out and two were fouled as well as leads. They then did a compression test & all was clear. Just waiting on word back from them today & hoping that new plugs & leads have cured it.

The car's now been over with McKeary's Subaru since before Xmas & they've tried the following but to no avail -

New plugs,
Leads,
Coilpack,
Compression test (all ok)
Engine diagnostics check (only fault was a crank case sensor & replacement made no difference)
Injectors checked
Replacement MAF sensor was tried as well.

I'm at a loss as to what's causing this, and McKeary's are completely baffled as well.
Anyone any ideas?

What was the cure for this? New belt just I take it?

Cheers for the help folks. I'll put these suggestions to my mechanic.

It's been with one of the most reputable Subaru mechanics/tuners in Northern Ireland since just before Xmas & they have not been able to get to the bottom of it yet. Last I heard was on saturday & they had checked timing & all was ok.
It's looking more & more like water has got into electrics possibly.
