Self unlocking doors problem???
I've tried a search for this, but unable to find anything exactly the same, so any help would be gratefully received .
My 2003 WRX has just started to intermittently unlock all the car doors without them being commanded to do so.
I was driving along this morning and all I could hear was an intermittent clicking of the central locking. When I stopped and locked the car using the keyfob button, the doors immediately unlocked again (Although alarm was now armed).
When I tried to lock the doors with the key in the doorlock, again, but not immediately, the doors unlocked all by itself. Then I could hear the locks again clicking to unlock intermittently.
Has anyone ever encountered this problem before, and if so what was the cause of it/what fixed it???
Many thanks for giving this some thought.
Cheers,
Phil

Had the same problem its caused by the central locking control unit/sensor.
its in the passenger side footwell between the door and dash under the side cover about shin height black box bit bigger than a *** packet if my memorys correct its held in with one bolt and a bit of a pain to get to, but mine was on a classic yours might be slightly different.

Did you have to replace yours or just can it be reprogrammed/flashed?
How much roughly would one of these cost anyway?
Are they matched/paired to the car, or can I get another one and slot it straight in?
Cheers,
Phil

Hi Phill i had to replace mine think subaru price was low 100 ish
but i ended up getting one from a breakers paid about 30 in the end
just a straight swap on a classic thought it would be the same though
Subaru said it was a comon problem caused by the way around there placed
the elec conection faces up and any condensation ends up dripping in to the
connecter so i held mine back in with cabel ties the other way round.

Fantastico Pete!!!
I'm gonna remove mine now and dry it out for a few hours and put it back in 'tother way up and see if all's well!
It's been horrible with lots of fog and condensation in the air for the last 4-5 days up here, so maybe it could be salvaged? If not, I'll try a few breakers tomorrow .
Cheers,
Phil
