BOOT RELEASE
Hi can anyone give me some advice. I can only open the boot with the key and not from inside the car. When you pull the lever in the car it pulls the cable that you see in the boot but not enough to move the catch. Sorry to be thick but is there a way that you adjust it. Any help PLEASE

To ressurect an old thread - I now have this scenario
Trying to fix the famous boot rattle by adjusting the lower catch I found my boot didn't shut first time so, I flicked that switch on the rear lock not really knowing what it does. Boot then shuts fine.
Like others, my key is rendered useless as it only gets about halfway into the lock before sticking.
Needless to say my interior boot release now no longer works.
I decided the only way in would be through the back seats only to find out they don't fold down either
Now whilst trying to squeeze my 17st through the gap in the centre armrest what do I actually need to do to get the lock to release and boot to open?

Been there myself recently - did a lot of miles in the recent cr@p weather and my key would not fit the boot lock - back of car covered in crud and guess it went inside the lock as well.
So I got a can of WD40, fitted the straw to it and pumped a load in to the boot lock - push the straw to the back of the lock a few times whilst pumping the WD40.
It made a mess of the outside but after leaving for about 10 minutes, my key opened the boot lock.
That will get you in - after that check the lever on the lock as above.

Cheers James. Yeah been in there with WD40 and Fairy Liquid trying to free up the keylock but no luck yet. Haven't tried getting the straw in there though so will give that a bash tomorrow night
Still would like to know how to release the boot from inside the boot though?

Yeah I have tried that too Tom. That lever is now in the horizontal position but the boot latch at the drivers door still will not open it making me think it may have become detached
