Question HDi FMIC fitting

Ok fitting aone of Harveys Hdi fmic over the next couple of days on my Blobeye no rush.
Has anyone got any tips, instructions pics etc ,they would be greatly appreciated.

I started preping earlier and have removed the tmic, bumper, headlights and the front cross member slam panel whatever its called.
The only thing that is causing concern is the slam panel cut as the so called instructions arent any good .
Gona give Harveys man Darren a call tomorrow as instructed by Harvey just wondered if anyone had done one already and had some pics of process.
Anything would be appreciated.

Cheers Wayne

Just take your time and it will work nicely. emailed harvey and Darren when i fitted mine, very helpfull have to say.
Got a few pics of when i did mine here:
FMIC install pictures by scooby_nolan - Photobucket

no point posting them all because there are quite a few.
my kit was second hand off someone so didnt have all the bits and had to alter the pipes slightly to get them to fit but harvey still helped me even though i didnt buy it from him fair play.

.

I noticed in some of you photos that the intercooler was black. was the core powder coated along with the pipes, or was the core coloured in some other way?

I don't know what has been done on that intercooler but powder coating an intercooler core will greatlly reduce its efficiency as the coating is a thermal barrier. It may be OK on installations well below maximum power. The other problem is that on a daily driver subject to stone chipping and road salt you will be forever touching up the intercooler if you have applied a light aerosol paint coat.

Should have said that a light aerosol paint coat/dust coat is far preferable to powder coating.

Harvey i think you missed the boat, there is a massive market for these discs do you have anymore.LOL.
Harvey quick question for you no one seems to know the answer on here and cant get hold of Bob R at the mo.I have sent my 720 injectors back and i'm getting 650's back ,will i be able to use the car whilst waiting for a slot for a map tweak.

Cheers Wayne

I threw 50 of these bloody discs in the bin so consider yourself lucky that the bin had not been emptied when I retrieved yours.
If you change to smaller injectors on the same map your engine will be under fuelling and it will be noticable. Chances are it will have quite a lot of hesitation and it must not be run on boost My advice would be to change the injectors just before the remap and if you do have to run the car prior to the remap then only very light throttle.
If you have a fuel pressure regulator you could increase the existing fuel pressure from something like 2.8 bar to 3.1 bar as a rough guess just to keep it adequately fuelled.
Your mapper needs to know what you have done regards the injectors and fuel pressure change.

Cheers Harvey kind of confirmed what i already thought.
The problem i have is ive had to send the 720's back to exchange for the 650's so when they do get here they are all i will have.I'm trying to co-ordinate it so Bob R can adjust the map asap after i get them but not getting any replies to my emails, like yourself he is much in demand.
Only have a standard fpr.

Bob told me he was working six weeks ahead but I am sure he will be in touch with you.
He is here 23 and 24 January and that was organised two or three weeks ago.

I used a dremel on mine, cut through the plastic like butter.

We use mainly an air operated hacksaw or a jigsaw. It must be daunting for some guys having to cut their bumper but if it is thought out carefully before you start it is not actually that difficult. I think the important thing is to have the bumper laid out on stands and well supported and don't try to cut it while it is just lying on the floor. Get it laid out properly in the first place and the job becomes that much easier.
